Hi there! Welcome back to my weekly blogs where we determine whether the speaker is worth your time and energy! Last week, we looked at Mitali Gupta, a PR specialist and a content creator. From his presentation, we determined that he was a PASS, and very interesting to listen to and gain insights.
This week, our guest presenter is Nitin Goyal, a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from the UBC Sauder School of Business. He has been working as a data analyst at a social media company named Hootsuite since 2018.
Since he works as a data analyst, his presentation was not very interesting to me. I am not interested in data analytics and am not a big fan of Excel and numbers. However, despite all that, Nitin said a few interesting things.
First, I liked his example of a lake and a bucket of water. By providing that example it made people like me better understand what data analytics are and how it all works. It was also very interesting when he was explaining data clean, or the way they organize the data collected to what they need and what they don’t. Overall, that part of the presentation was very interesting and fun to listen to.
Additionally, Nitin also said a very important thing. He stated that no matter where you work, you will always need data analytics. No matter if you work directly with data or you are a content creator, social media manager etc, data analytics will always be a useful tool to use and see how the business or the work you do is progressing. I found that to be very interesting and it actually made me think deeper about what he was saying.
Overall, Nitin’s presentation was fun, but also not very effective to me. He did say some valuable things, however, his overall presentation was not of any interest to me.
Unfortunately, despite some good comments, his overall presentation was a FAIL, and could barely make me pay attention to what he was explaining.
Nitin did mention a few interesting statements, however, I struggled to focus on the presentation aside from what I found to be informative.
Thank you, NEXT…![]()
