A2 - The Meet Cute
This audio story shows how love is everywhere, and sometimes in another country than your own. My parents showcase this by retelling the story of their meet cute.
A3 - How to Make Tosta Mistas
Ever wanted to take your ham and cheese sandwiches to the next level? Follow along as my sister and I teach you how to make the perfect Portuguese lunch item: a tosta mista.
Condensed social media edit of the “How To Make Tosta Mistas” video above.
Reflection Statement
This class was full of new experiences and gave me important hands-on practice in the media field. Looking back at this past semester, I am proud to say my skillset was refined and I learned new tools like WordPress. I think my photography improved a lot by only shooting in manual, as well as my audio mixing and recording. For example, my photo series allowed me to shoot in both dramatic and natural lighting since I shot outside yet moved between shadows and direct sunlight. Selecting and piecing all the photos together was also enjoyable as I was able to tell a story simply through visuals.I learned that as a creator, I like to add personal touches to my work and showcase my personality through my artwork. For instance, I’m very proud of my audio assignment which allowed me to enhance my audio editing and mixing skills while sharing a special part of my life: my parents. One of the most challenging yet rewarding projects I’ve ever done was this class’s video assignment. It was challenging to bring my vision to life even if it seemed relatively straightforward in theory. It taught me to navigate when things go wrong while also taking advantage of when things happen to be better than you expected. It’s a lesson I will be able to bring forward into my media career to become a better videographer and as a creative in general. I’d love to explore further into videography and experiment with different lightings and storytelling techniques. It’s also a personal goal of mine to shoot on film one day once I (hopefully) master filming with DSLRs.
