This week we got to hear from our interesting guest speaker Huy Tran who is currently the National Marketing Manager at Aburi Foods. It is very interesting that Huy began as a photographer at the age of 12 and continues to pursue his passion through his current role in the food industry. When discussing something that is most important to brands, he mentions brand affirmity. I find this very interesting because I do agree that brands are very focused on how their customerspositively view their brand. This is something that is done through data such as surveys, reports and market research. This can break down into categories as well such as friendliness, future friendliness and family friendliness. As someone who heavily learns about media and brand metrics, this is something that I am hearing for the first time but also find very interesting. I do agree with Huy that brand affirmity can be one of a brands biggest focus on to be successful.
He also mentions how important data is not only in the marketing and content industry but also in industries such as finances, etc. Being able to use these pieces of data and figure out different ways to analyze it to improve your brand is a very interesting take, and what he did a lot of the time as being a data analyst. For example, for email marketing he uses Mailchimp, allowing you to look at email open rate and click through rates. This gives you so much insight and can make your future emails better and have your audience more inclined to read it. Different tools allow you to prioritize the right things and be as organized as possible.
Overall, I believe Huy Tran had so many interesting insights especially when it comes to content strategy. Because he has a data analyst background I was able to learn so many things that are new to me, and I will definitely use in my future content production.
