Today I heard from Ron Abraham Jr. who is a co-founder of Dominic Digital. He shared valuable insights on how to create content strategy that truly engages audiences and has real results. His advice in my opinion, offers practical tips for those like me, looking to improve their content marketing skills.

One of the key points Ron highlighted throughout his presentation was the importance of having clear goals. A content strategy should have a clear purpose and be aligned with specific objectives depending on what it is for. For example, increasing brand awareness, generating leads and boosting sales. In his opinion, when content supports specific business goals, it becomes much more effective at achieving those goals. I agree with this as it makes it easier to take one to the other, creating better outcomes to reach your goals.

Ron also emphasized the value of using data to inform decisions. Such as engagement and conversion rates help provide useful feedback on how well content is performing, allowing you to know how to improve. Furthermore, he suggests regularly reviewing this data to help ensure that the strategy stays flexible and adapts to what’s working. This as a whole will help brands create more focused, impactful content that connects with their audience in more ways. Next, he talked about how understanding your audience is another crucial aspect within content strategy. Knowing your target market’s preferences, behaviours and needs helps you create more personalized content. Allowing for your audience to most likely engage with the content further.

Ron also pointed out the need to balance creativity with technical skills in content creation. This is something that I resonated with and agree with, that I have learned throughout my years in university so far. While creative ideas are crucial and important, being able to execute them using tools such as graphic design software or video editing tools is what makes those ideas come to life in the industry. Today’s content creators need both creative thinking and technical skills to produce high quality and engaging content.

As a whole, I found Ron’s presentation informative to be able to apply to my current schooling and assignment. What is important when it comes to content strategy and tools that will help bring it to the next level.
