Promoting yourself can be quite challenging, particularly when you’re in the process of identifying both your target audience and your personal brand. I’m still working on promoting myself and my brand, but it’s not as straightforward as it may seem. Welcome back to my crazy life! Today, we’re diving into the world of trends. Now, I may not be a TikTok influencer or an Instagram role model, but I do have a budding photography venture called mclpics. When promoting yourself or your company, many individuals tend to jump right into following the latest trends or sharing content that isn’t relevant. 

When I started my photography business, I set up a website, Instagram, and TikTok. I thought it would be challenging, but it turned out to be easier than expected. I initially created my website to showcase my work and provide a platform for people to book me as their photographer. Although I don’t have business cards, I always share my Instagram with anyone who asks about my brand. That’s where I post the best pictures I’ve taken, allowing people to follow me easily and get a feel for my style. On TikTok, I enjoy making behind-the-scenes videos to engage my audience more authentically, showing them each step of my photo shoots.

Everyone has their unique approach to self-promotion and trend-following. Listening to Kyle Thomas, I appreciate his insights on client engagement. His motto resonates with me, especially the concepts of the “As is Model” and the “To be Model.” It’s essential to create a bridge to understand the direction you want your brand to take. Creating impactful content requires understanding the needs of your audience, which will drive your company’s growth. It’s essential to offer a service that benefits everyone while promoting your brand in a way that reflects your true values. Additionally, the content should be engaging, allowing the audience to form a connection. Ultimately, it’s about steering your marketing efforts in the right direction.
