A preview of what to expect in my blog

“Gabe’s Sports & More” is my new blog focusing on all thing sports from newsworthy stories, too predictions, and my opinions on what is going on in the world of sports and beyond.

This blog will focus on key trends and newsworthy headlines surrounding many sports whether it is hockey, baseball, soccer, etc, I got you covered. The “More” aspect of my blog may look into other interests I have or other big, or newsworthy headlines worth expressing my opinion about and showcasing.

I look forward to providing valuable and intuitive insight for big sports fans such as myself as well as, displaying my passion for them through my writing. As fans we all have differing opinions on certain topics, so make sure to interact and my comment section and feel free to express your opinions down below.

Listening to guest speaker Dee Thomson, provided me with great insight into starting and pursuing this style of blog posting. Her advice that was presented in order to express ideas that are trending truly relate to the sports world and beyond. Whether it be through sports, fashion, food, etc, there will always be something new and trendy in each of those spaces.

The idea of staying true to yourself and your passions was also a key takeaway. In order for my blog, or any blog to be engaging and effective, it is important to hook your readers in with how passionate and engaged you are about any chosen topic. I hope to give my readers something to look forward to anytime they click on a blog posting discussing that big sports headline, or other big trends happening in media and beyond.

Make sure to keep tuned in as hockey season is fast approaching and the plan is to post my predictions and thoughts on the upcoming season with team previews and stat previews to what you can all expect from the 23/24 NHL season.

Land Acknowledgment

The University of Guelph-Humber and Humber College are located within the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Known as Adoobiigok, the “Place of the Black Alders” in the Mississauga language, the region is uniquely situated along Humber River Watershed, which historically provided an integral connection for Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples between the Ontario Lakeshore and the Lake Simcoe/Georgian Bay regions. Now home to people of numerous nations, Adoobiigok continues to provide a vital source of interconnection for all. We acknowledge and honour the land we are walking on, the moccasin tracks of our ancestors and the footprints of the future generations to come.
