Guest Speaker – Angela Mclean

  • Mclean promotes style guides and blogs, among other things that were touched on in class. It is always nice to see a clear-cut connection to course material.
  • The idea of understanding what your competitors are doing and how that affects your business was touched on, and I found this to be quite a useful piece of information.
  • Mclean suggests creating an online presence is a good thing as it leaves companies with the option to stalk you, which was obviously some comic relief within the otherwise serious discussion. However, it does raise a good point about leaving yourself open as a prospect for a company.
  • Responds to questions with concise answers

Readings

  • The Marketing and content funnel reading was not bad. Visuals are spares but helpful when applicable. Content is important to the following lecture and not overly wordy.

Lecture

  • There is nothing too much to say. There is lots of information, though the slides where very wordy, which is not generally super visually appealing.

Readings

  • Important content marketing KPIs you should know—This is useful information, just a bit boring. It’s a solid 5/10 reading.

Land Acknowledgment

The University of Guelph-Humber and Humber College are located within the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Known as Adoobiigok, the “Place of the Black Alders” in the Mississauga language, the region is uniquely situated along Humber River Watershed, which historically provided an integral connection for Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples between the Ontario Lakeshore and the Lake Simcoe/Georgian Bay regions. Now home to people of numerous nations, Adoobiigok continues to provide a vital source of interconnection for all. We acknowledge and honour the land we are walking on, the moccasin tracks of our ancestors and the footprints of the future generations to come.
