Assignment 1: Brand Photography

Storytelling through Artistry

My Name is Jasmeen Kaler. I am a media and communications student, specializing in digital media and social marketing. At the University of Guelph-Humber, i’ve attained skillsets in media production.

Assignment 1: Photography

In this assignment, I chose the brand Gymshark

I could showcase the brand beyond its clothing while advertising its products, such as a gym bag in the gym. This assignment allowed me to explore photography by capturing shots using different elements to enhance my story.

Most of the pictures I took consisted of focus and depth of field. I wanted to keep a simplistic background to separate the subject and bring attention to the item to really showcase it.

Video & Audio Assignment

In assignment 3, I created an Instagram-styled advertisement with the use of videography and audio. By creating a “get ready with me” style gym video, I was able to foster a different direction with Gymshark advertisement by making it more relatable for a digital audience.

The University of Guelph-Humber and Humber College are located within the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Known as Adoobiigok, the “Place of the Black Alders” in the Mississauga language, the region is uniquely situated along Humber River Watershed, which historically provided an integral connection for Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples between the Ontario Lakeshore and the Lake Simcoe/Georgian Bay regions. Now home to people of numerous nations, Adoobiigok continues to provide a vital source of interconnection for all. We acknowledge and honour the land we are walking on, the moccasin tracks of our ancestors and the footprints of the future generations to come.
