From Concept to Creation

My name is Ariana Charles, and I am a second-year student at Guelph-Humber. This class allowed me to explore various aspects of media production, from photography, video and audio to social media campaigns. It has been an exciting journey of growth and creativity, allowing me to improve my skills and create work I’m proud of. Moodboard

I chose E.L.F Cosmetics for my brand because I’ve admired their commitment to affordability, accessibility, and creativity. As someone who owns many of their products, I’ve experienced firsthand how inexpensive and high quality they are.

Bold, vibrant, and inclusive — this moodboard captures the brand's aesthetic, showcasing a playful mix of colours and originality that inspires every eye, lip, and face.

Data Visualization

I collected data from young adults at UofGH to discover their favorite makeup products, gaining insights into popular preferences and trends. The 11 responses highlight diverse choices, showcasing the variety of must-have items in their beauty routines.

Audio Assignment

This audio assignment creatively blends photos and video footage from previous assignments into a social media ad for ELF Cosmetics, incorporating smooth transitions, energetic sound design, and visual storytelling. By combining elements like narration, music, transitions and effects, the ad captures the playful essence of the brand, demonstrating how its products inspire confidence and individuality.

Land Acknowledgement

The University of Guelph-Humber and Humber College are located within the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Known as Adoobiigok, the “Place of the Black Alders” in the Mississauga language, the region is uniquely situated along Humber River Watershed, which historically provided an integral connection for Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples between the Ontario Lakeshore and the Lake Simcoe/Georgian Bay regions. Now home to people of numerous nations, Adoobiigok continues to provide a vital source of interconnection for all. We acknowledge and honour the land we are walking on, the moccasin tracks of our ancestors and the footprints of the future generations to come.
