Media Production Toolkit – Gabriel Goncalves

Photo Assignment

For this assignment I chose to take photos of my shoes in various settings. I chose to use skulls for the brown Jordans because their colours matched well with the shoes.

Audio Assignment

For the audio assignment I chose to market a new Coca Cola product the Pumpkin Spice Coca Cola because the Fall and Winter season is here.

Video Assignment

For the video assignment I chose to tell the story of a football game and a rivalry between two players. The first game is where Collins plays the better game but the second game is where Alexander shows his skill and wins the game for his team.

Reflection

Over this semester I have learned many new skills when it comes to media production. Before this semester I had never used a camera before and now I feel a lot more confident using one. Also past skills for example video editing was something I already felt confident with but this class has only furthered my skills with editing. I had the most fun on the audio assignment because it took being creative to make sure the audio was interesting enough. And it is the assignment I am most proud of. Now that I am able to use a camera it is a skill I will never forget and can use in future classes. In the future I want to continue to learn how to better use cameras more specifically, video. The thing that I learned about media production is how much goes to making sure everything is perfect. Stuff you don’t notice until you’re using the camera and editing. This class has really helped me be able to further my skills with media production.

Land Acknowledgement

The University of Guelph-Humber and Humber College are located within the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Known as Adoobiigok, the “Place of the Black Alders” in the Mississauga language, the region is uniquely situated along Humber River Watershed, which historically provided an integral connection for Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples between the Ontario Lakeshore and the Lake Simcoe/Georgian Bay regions. Now home to people of numerous nations, Adoobiigok continues to provide a vital source of interconnection for all. We acknowledge and honour the land we are walking on, the moccasin tracks of our ancestors and the footprints of the future generations to come.
