In the world of content strategy, there are many tools to use to aid us in the process of creating content. This week I learned from Kyle Thomas, a digital marketer and image consultant. He brings up his experience and the tools, like AI, that can help him in this field.

Guest Speaker: Kyle Thomas

Kyle brings up a conversation he had with his uncle who was a consultant from places all around the world. His uncle’s words of advice were that success can be viewed like a plane taking off. You can start producing content and promising things to the audience which is equivalent to taking off but can you land the plane to success? As he talks about landing the plane, he mentions using tools to help “ease the landing”. Although he brings up AI, he also warns us, the audience, to not be so reliant on AI. He talks about using AI as an assistant and less of a replacement for our human abilities. AI can be very helpful but at the very base of it, our human judgement should be prioritized to determine if content is even made correctly. AI might not always be correct in creating content catered to your audience, which you should be able to figure out as a content strategist. So although I learned a new tool to use for content strategy, it cannot replace the things that I have learned in the past through guest speakers or lectures.

Overall Reflections

Overall, I was able to learn a bit about Kyle and how you should strategize content. Although you can take off on the plane, can you actually land the plane and deliver on everything you promise? Will the plane crash if you let AI take control? These are all questions that come up from Kyle’s analogy and teachings. With all these tools available, you should still play a part in making content as it should still cater to your audience and not be heavily reliant on AI.
