Hi there! Welcome back to my weekly blogs where we determine whether the speaker is worth your time and energy! Last week, we looked at Brooke Inhat, strategic communications specialist. From her presentation, we determined that he was a Pass and worth listening to!
This week, our guest presenter is Mitali Gupta, a PR specialist and content creator. As mentioned in her presentation, she mostly focuses on a variety of beauty brands, some of which include Olaplex, Amika and more.
In her presentation, she mentioned a lot of interesting and cool things in her career, but there were a few ones that stood out. I enjoyed listening to the way they create content for the brands they work for, and how they do it as well. She talked a lot about how they use videos to market their products to the customers while utilizing little text. I found this to be very interesting because as a consumer myself, I never really noticed how specifically brands might target me. As a consumer, I do prefer videos instead of text, or shorter content instead of long, but never have I actually realized that most of the content I consume is done in that way.
She also talked a lot about the way these videos have to be made. She mentioned how the video needs to catch people’s attention in the first 3-5 seconds (the 3-second rule as she called it). Putting the best and most catchy information, in the beginning, will automatically mean a successful video! Mitali also mentioned how it is important to include the message of the campaign and the impact that the product or the brand will make. This will engage the audience more, and make it clear what the advertisement is actually about.
All these insights were very interesting to hear, especially since I am studying in that field, and all that information is very useful. I also really liked when she talked about the different platforms that they use for the video creatikon, and why each of them is better for a specific kind of content. It gave me an idea of which platforms work the best in different kinds of situations, which is very beneficial for my future job!
Overall, Mitali’s presentation was great, and it gave me a lot of insights on what kinds of things to expect, and what are the best ways to create digital marketing.
From her presentation, I can say she was a PASS, and I am very excited to see what is coming next.
Thank You, PASS…![]()
