The stress and exhaustion that you must feel after working hard on a campaign that was a complete flop can be horrible. It does not feel rewarding in the slightest.

Marketing campaigns are strategic events that display the objective a business is trying to achieve. So when this isn’t achieved it can be quite disappointing, so I am going to tell you how to unfold your campaign. Better yet, how to create a successful one, so let’s get into it.

You wanna start with something as simple as going viral. It is a lot easier than people make it seems. For example, try creating what we call a viral coefficient. This could be as simple as the whole amount of new viewers created by one existing viewer. With this the content will have viral growth that is continuous. Now let’s break down how you can make content that will be shared amongst people.

You want to start with a strong title.

This is what grabs the attention of your viewers, you want people to see the title and click on it for more. If no one is trying to read more into your content then it is as good as dead. That is NOT what we want for our campaign.

There has to be some type of emotional pull to create enough care and relevance for people to want to share. You don’t want to do to much with the branding here but you want to be impactful. Remember, a little goes a long way. You want to give them more emotions there anything here, like a rollercoaster. With this the audience won’t become bored of what they are viewing.

Finally, you want to hit the right emotional chords. Have a look at the latest trends or what is viral on the internet and see the emotions within that. For example curiosity, excitement, and amazement are all things to keep in mind.

There is a lot of observation that goes into this process so you have to be aware of the trends, the emotions and of course, your brands message. With these tips, I think it’s very unlikely your campaign will flop but it id more likely to pop!

Land Acknowledgment

The University of Guelph-Humber and Humber College are located within the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Known as Adoobiigok, the “Place of the Black Alders” in the Mississauga language, the region is uniquely situated along Humber River Watershed, which historically provided an integral connection for Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples between the Ontario Lakeshore and the Lake Simcoe/Georgian Bay regions. Now home to people of numerous nations, Adoobiigok continues to provide a vital source of interconnection for all. We acknowledge and honour the land we are walking on, the moccasin tracks of our ancestors and the footprints of the future generations to come.
