Mastering the Art of Social Media: From Networking to Content Creation
In a world teeming with 4.8 billion active users on various social media platforms, the challenge of standing out and reaching others pages can seem daunting. The landscape of journalism, especially in fields like fashion, has witnessed a shift towards content creation and social media. To establish a brand or run a successful self-managed page, one must delve into the intricacies of social media, from tools and trends to consistency and experimentation. Handling social media is easy, but mastering the art of content for growth is a different endeavor altogether. Social media encompasses everything from Pinterest to blogs to Instagram to TikTok, and beyond.
Use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
To master this art of social media or content creation, one must harness the tools that facilitate creators’ progress, such as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). KPIs play a pivotal role in measuring content effectiveness and success. They provide insights into views, shares, likes, saves, bounce rates, audience engagement, and more. Essentially, KPIs offer an overview of your page/brand’s standing and how your content is perceived globally. They reveal which posts resonate with your audience and which ones do not – all integral aspects of understanding your performance. “socialize and build networks wherever and whenever you can.”
Recently, we had the privilege of hearing from Ebony-Renee Baker, a Canadian journalist and content creator currently serving as the UK fashion editor at Refinery29. Her experience in content marketing and social media highlights one crucial element: “socialize and build networks wherever and whenever you can.” This resonated with me personally, as two years ago, back in India, I embarked on the journey of establishing my brand, ‘Vaviya.Co.’ The majority of support and shares for my work came from the network I had cultivated over the years. Networking, indeed, is the key.
Insights, SEO and Tools- they do help!
In my business venture, I utilized Instagram as a platform to sell customized printed tees and in-house designs. Instagram’s insights were my guiding light, providing invaluable information about which products garnered the most views, shares, and likes. This data empowered me to create more of what resonated with my audience. I also leveraged Instagram reels to showcase my design process and maintained a regular posting schedule. Although my business was relatively small with just me at the helm, it imparted valuable lessons on using social media to create content, connect with audiences, and raise awareness about my brand and identity.
“Always remember, everything is just one click away!”
Your support on my blogs is the wind beneath my wings. Thank you for being a valued part of this journey.
