Having worked in the marketing field for quite awhile, Huy Tran has a wealth of knowledge and experiences to offer. Following trends was the most crucial aspect of his journey, he emphasized. Tran, who has led campaigns across industries like food delivery and automotive, noted that trends shape the effectiveness of content strategies. Whether you’re planning a product launch or managing multiple social accounts, keeping yourself on top of emerging trends is key.
Trans approach is simple, “The only thing that doesn’t change is that content always follows the trends.” Trends dictate what is going to resonate with consumers at any given moment. His experiences and knowledge helped him to quickly identify a demand for at-home dining experiences. Within days, his team was producing cocktail kits to meet that demand, demonstrating the value of acting quick on new trends. This was during the covid-19 pandemic, where he worked at Aburi Restaurants.
Ignoring the trend can leave your brand behind the curv, but adapting early can position you as a leader. This was the case with Tran’s quick pivot to launch online grocery services, helping Aburi survive the pandemic while others struggled.
Among the useful advice Tran provided for success in the world of digital media, these were the ones that stuck with me the most…
- Consume Industry News Regularly
This could be subscribing to newsletters and following relevant accounts on social platforms. By doing this, it will keep you in the loop about the latest shifts in consumer behaviour.
- ADAPT QUICKLY !
Spot a trend? Hop on it fast, marketing isn’t about over analyzing, it’s about taking opportunities as they arise. Tran noted, “every day a company delays action, is a potential loss of revenue.”
- Build a Trend Tracker
Create a simple system to track trends relevant to your industry. Think of seasonal shifts, viral content formats, or popular cultural movements. This helps you stay proactive, not reactive. 😉
In marketing, success isn’t just about working hard, it’s about working smart. Trends guide what consumers want, and if you’re quick to adapt, you can build deeper connections with your audience. As Huy’s journey shows, being trend-savvy isn’t optional— it’s the difference between standing out and falling behind.
