Figuring out the pandemic

Gatherings…NO MORE

Once the pandemic had hit the world, all the conventions and events had come to en end. With social distancing, you couldn’t be gathered around with your team in a social setting without it being harmful to everyone. All the budgets that had been organized for these events were simply put into other aspects of brands such as online content. This helps with spreading the message of your brand and helps to grab the attention of new consumers. Any social conferences or events were also held online via zoom or on other live chat platforms to ensure the steady flow of business.

There is Strength in Numbers

Through these difficult times it is good to keep strong bonds within the community. With everything being online, there definitely was a sense of loneliness that a lot of people felt. The need for human connection was in high demand and the use of the internet was all we really had. By building these relationships we create strength within out communities within our brand and also within our team. The pandemic did open up peoples eyes on learned how to do better with their communication and building their connections now that we are no longer seeing people face to face all the time.

Above everything it is important to protect yourself and those around you. By finding different ways to spread the message of your brand and communicate with your peers you are being safe. You aren’t putting anyone at risk and you are ensuring the safety of consumers as well. This shows the value in your brand and helps you all shine and grow as a collective.

Land Acknowledgment

The University of Guelph-Humber and Humber College are located within the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Known as Adoobiigok, the “Place of the Black Alders” in the Mississauga language, the region is uniquely situated along Humber River Watershed, which historically provided an integral connection for Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples between the Ontario Lakeshore and the Lake Simcoe/Georgian Bay regions. Now home to people of numerous nations, Adoobiigok continues to provide a vital source of interconnection for all. We acknowledge and honour the land we are walking on, the moccasin tracks of our ancestors and the footprints of the future generations to come.
