What’s in the Telescope?

This week’s guest speaker was Ron Abraham Jr., the co-founder of Domin8 Digital, a UK-based digital marketing agency. Domin8 specializes in helping fashion and beauty brands grow through targeted paid acquisition and retention strategies. With over eight years of experience in digital marketing, Ron’s expertise spans various areas, including website development, SEO, and content strategy. His background includes working with both direct-to-consumer (D2C) and business-to-business (B2B) brands across industries such as fashion, real estate, and education. Beyond marketing, Ron is also an international soca DJ, blending his creative and entrepreneurial pursuits in multiple fields.

How Do the Stars Align?

Ron’s approach to content strategy and audience engagement really resonated with me, as it aligns closely with the challenges I’m facing in building my own brand in astrology and media. His focus on tailoring content to different stages of the buyer’s journey reminded me of my need to create more personalized content that resonates with people, whether they’re just discovering my astrological services or are already familiar with them. I’ve been working on the idea of combining astrology with personal branding and media consulting, and Ron’s advice on staying data-driven in this process really hit home. I often rely on intuition, but his emphasis on using KPIs and engagement metrics to understand what truly connects with an audience made me realize I need to get more analytical to optimize my content.

Ron’s journey from freelancing to co-founding his own agency also reminded me of my own path, from studying media management to launching ‘Shine With Lukia.’ Like him, I’ve had to learn how to balance multiple roles, including astrology readings, social media strategies, and being a full-time student. His ability to juggle a marketing career with his passion for music as an international DJ reflects my own desire to blend creativity with business. Whether it’s creating content for my personal Instagram or working on my astrology account, I often feel pulled in different directions, but Ron’s experience showed me how different passions can come together to form a unique personal brand.

Ron’s adaptability and constant drive to learn new skills really spoke to me, especially as I continue to navigate my third year in Media Studies while managing a growing brand. It’s a reminder that, like him, I need to keep refining both my creative and technical skills to stay ahead, whether that’s mastering new digital tools or deepening my astrological expertise.

My Guiding Star:

Ron’s insights offered valuable lessons that I will carry forward. First, his emphasis on understanding audience behaviour, particularly through data and key performance indicators (KPIs), reinforced the importance of analytics in content creation. Moving forward, I will pay closer attention to metrics like engagement rates and click-through rates to better understand my audience’s needs. Second, Ron’s adaptability, from creating buzz-worthy viral content to repurposing old content, taught me the value of flexibility. I will focus on maximizing the content I already have while continually experimenting with new ideas. Lastly, his advice on constant learning and upskilling inspired me to further develop my technical and creative skills, as mastering new tools and platforms will help me remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.
