Welcome back to another blog post! Today we will discuss the concept of Algorithms taught by Niten Goyal, who is a consultant technical data analyst at Hootsuite!
Niten mentions that there are two elements that make algorithms what they are:
- A set of rules to follow
- Trying to show more personalized content to you
As they develop tactics to maximize success, they enable small firms to create waves in the cutthroat market of today. Social media networks’ content guidelines are defined by algorithms. Algorithms attempt to present consumers with more tailored material, as Nitin Goyal stated.
Social media platforms are designed to deliver more content tailored to individual users, emphasizing content suitable for passive consumption. Personalized content originates from personal accounts instead of corporate or organizational ones, while passive viewing content is designed to engage users’ thoughts or leverage their existing knowledge.
He highlights that algorithms aim to maximize the time users spend on the platform. By utilizing personalized content and promoting passive viewing, these algorithms enhance user engagement and increase the likelihood of users viewing more content, thereby continuously delivering additional content to them.
Lastly, Niten focuses on how companies and businesses are motivated to invest in promoting their content, as users typically prefer content from personal accounts. Niten says this is due to making sure their content reaches and engages users effectively, which allows businesses to allocate funds for boosting their posts, aiming to keep users engaged for extended periods to increase the likelihood of successful conversions.
That’s it for this week’s blog, hard to believe we are nearing the last two! I’ll catch you guys in the next one!
