At the beginning of the semester I was incredibly unsure of my abilities with the labs I’d be participating in for the class. The first unit we participated in was Photography which was a huge weakness at the start of the year. I was introduced to multiple brands of cameras, unique camera angles, and all the detail put into the settings before shooting the shot. Generally struggling with anxiety this class had me anxious. Once I began experiencing how to navigate cameras, mics, photography, and videography I felt a sense of calmness and became more confident with my work.
The first image shown is a photo from my Nike Photoshoot with a DSLR 7000 Camera. After a delay in meeting up with my friends, I adjusted to the struggle of managing my lighting and snapped the perfect photo of my friend in his goalie era.
Taking the Media Toolkit production class has allowed me to enhance my skills in multiple senses.
- Photography skills, I learned how to properly adjust to lighting and how to get clear shots. I learned how to arrange subjects that are visually appealing to the audience. This photo underneath is another shot from my Nike Photoshoot with the DSLR 7000 Camera, I adjusted my friends for the perfect shot. This was one of my favourite shots as it reminds me of an average sibling photoshoot.
- Photography skills, I learned how to properly adjust to lighting and how to get clear shots. I learned how to arrange
subjects that are visually appealing to the audience.
- Videography: I learned proper audio editing along with visuals. I learned how to arrange subjects that are visually appealing to the audience.
- Audio: I learned how to use audio and sounds in a commercial sequence to form the perfect advertisement.
Now that we are at the last week I feel comfortable with these new paths of Media and Communications. I have a good amount of knowledge of photography, videography, data analytics, and overall editing and have gained overall confidence in what I’m doing.
